The Pandemic

Since the Covid-19 was reported in wuhan, which the capital of Hubei Province in the People’s Republic of China, never being thought that it would be happen in Indonesia, the place where I lived in.

Meanwhile, when the first person who was reported as being infected of the virus, the panic buying was so dramatically happened for a reason. Moreover, the majority of people bought uncommonly huge products because of their own perceptions towards scarcity. Whereas, both perishable goods and household essentials were being bought in massive amount and left it to waste which depriving another consumer to consume certain products. Those phenomenon reminds me of the movie which is “Titanic”, when all the passengers were running to the lifeboats due to anxiety. Regardless, the ship’s sinking or not. In other words, perhaps, if you are feeling compelled towards the panic buying, you might be worth asking of what it is really you are afraid of. Instead of believing that dramatic event and tend to indulge to buy madly. Thus, as social being, we could also have a sensitive towards surroundings and keep aside of the selfishness.

During that time, the government also has taken some of measures in the hope of rapidly break the coronavirus transmission chain by conducting lockdown, social distance on large scale (PSBB) and so on. Those regulations were having huge impact to the society, especially to citizens who had business which relates to the crowd. The majority of people were confronted with serious problem in the matter of economic income. Willy-nilly, they had to be more creative to gain money. Some of them, tried to learn of how to cook which they never have done before, gardening, making handmade crochet and all the activities that would possibly can be done at home. Furthermore, as in this digital era,there were also lots of small business are coming out during pandemic. It can be seen that some people need to be forced by circumstances to bring out of the skills that they never thought it could be done.

To sum up, there would be negative and positive impact due to pandemic Covid-19. In this pandemic where everything are unpredictable, we, could also have the faith to face all the situations. As life like a roller coaster, there will always be ups and downs. All the need that should be done is just keep facing, trying your best until you are ready to be at up level.
